Chiang Mai: Kayak Under the Stars – 6 km to the Heart of the City - Price and Value for a Guided Night Kayak

5.Kayak Under the Stars – 6 km to the Heart of the City

★★★★★★★★★★4.5 · 53 reviews · from $48

Evening kayak on Chiang Mai’s Ping River. 6 km in small groups up to 15, gear and lights included, city views at dusk.

“Whilst the guides were lovely and did a great job, the journey itself was a nightmare. This is marketed as a leisurely activity, but realistically it’s more suited to intermediate to advanced kayakers. The tour begins way up river and takes about an hour to get into Chiang Mai by kayaking through trees with nothing to really see. By the time we got to the city lights, we were exhausted and underwhelmed. The river itself is filthy and polluted, with trash and dead aquatic animals spotted all throughout. You’ll end up covered in this water by the end of the trip so you leave feeling tired and dirty.”

“This is the second time I've used this company and it was great both times. Everything is super organized. Our guide was so kind and helpful and we had a blast. Pick up is prompt from you hotel. You have to do a quick check in at the office. Then you drive in a van to the starting spot and learn how to kayak! We opted for the longer kayaking as we had already done the caves. It was just me, my partner and the guide for this part. Our guide was so patient and friendly. We stopped off for a delicious lunch before heading back to Chiang Mai. Thank…”

★★★★★★★★★★4.8 · 8 reviews · 1 day · from $64

Kayak the Ping River in Chiang Dao Valley, paddle flooded forests and creeks with expert coaching, then relax at a local lunch.

“Great guides. Chatty and informative. A wonderful experience on the river Ping. Just about the right length of time. The simple food was at the end. Maybe would have been better ½ way through. Had to get out of the river twice to get kayaks past the 2 weirs. Luckily the guides did the boat dragging as I would have found it hard. The getting out was not easy especially the second place which was muddy and sharp stones. I hurt my foot.”
